Ashley Hutchings


Ashley Simon Hutchings 'Tyger' nació el 26 de enero de 1945 en Southgate, Londres, Inglaterra.

Está considerado como el padrino del Folk-Rock en Inglaterra.

Siendo todavía un niño se mudó a Muswell Hill. Formó varios grupos, incluido "Dr K's Blues Band" en 1964. Cuando conoció al guitarrista Simon Nicol, ensayaban en el piso sobre el consultorio médico del padre de Nicol. La casa se llamaba "Fairport" y ese sería el nombre del grupo que juntos formarían mas tarde.

Tyger ha tenido la posibilidad de formar mas grupos que ningún otro bajista. Los mas famosos han sido Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span (formado luego que dejó a Fairport en 1970) y el siempre cambiante Albion Country Band (formado luego que dejó a Steeleye en 1971). Ha grabado varios álbumes temáticos con músicos de sesión reunidos tanto del espectro de la música folk como del rock siendo asímismo, el productor de varios de ellos.

Una serie de discos llamada The Guv'nor colecciona grabaciones raras de algunos grupos relacionados con Hutchings. En el 2004 se retira de The Albion Band y regresa como parte de un cuarteto, llamado Rainbow Chasers.
